Anjula is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, pop culture enthusiast and Angel Investor/ Advisor and was recently named on Billboard’s 2014 ‘International Power Players’ List.
In 2007 Anjula co-founded (media company) Desi Hits!, which helped drive diversity into global pop culture, she introduced artists like Lady Gaga and Britney Spears to emerging global markets. Returning the favor, Anjula signed with Jimmy Iovine (Interscope/BeatsByDre founder), international award winning actress Priyanka Chopra in her foray into America, managing high profile deals with NFL, GUESS, Disney and BeatsByDre.
Anjula was also named on Billboard’s ‘Top 40 Women in Music’ List and has been featured in many publications including, The Wall Street Journal, NY Times and Forbes for her ground-breaking work in diversity and pop culture as well as the consumer tech companies she has invested in, advised and championed. With a background in tech and Venture Search and having founded her own start-up Anjula is passionate about mentoring entrepreneurs and bridging the gap between technology and entertainment, to this end Anjula was also named on Vanity Fair’s ‘Next Establishment’ List as a “Titan disrupting media, technology and culture”. She advises and array of companies in the consumer internet space and is currently on the advisory board of ClassPass.com, TheMuse.com, Parkt.com, Sprayology.com, TheHunt.com.
In addition, Anjula was named as one of the ‘2010 Game Changers’ by The NY Enterprise Report and was recently named to The United Nations (UN) GirlUP Advisory council. She speaks regularly at media conferences and was a guest speaker at NYU’s Clive Davis School of Music and was also one of the keynote speakers for the 2010 Digital Music Forum in NYC.
